Terms of Service
Last updated
These are the terms for using A2Z Calc. They’re written in plain language on purpose. This is a free calculator site, not a bank or a law firm, and the terms should read like it. By using this site, you’re agreeing to them. If you don’t agree, the simplest option is not to use the site.
What this site is
A2Z Calc is a free collection of calculators and unit converters. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to buy. Every tool runs in your own browser: you type in numbers, we do the maths, and we never send what you enter anywhere, except that a result link you open or share carries its numbers in the page address. The site is paid for by advertising rather than by charging you, which is covered in more detail in the privacy policy.
These tools give estimates, not advice
Every result on this site (a mortgage payment, a BMI reading, a tax estimate, a unit conversion) is a calculation based on the numbers you typed in and a formula we’ve implemented as carefully as we can. It is not financial, medical, legal, tax or engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to someone qualified who knows the specifics of your situation.
This matters most for the calculators where a wrong assumption has real consequences: money, health, tax and anything with a legal deadline attached. Use the numbers here to get a feel for a decision, not to make the decision itself. A mortgage broker, doctor, accountant or solicitor can see things a formula can’t.
We try to be accurate, but we can’t promise it
We build every calculator against a recognised formula and test it with known values before it goes live, and we correct mistakes as soon as we’re aware of them. Even so, tax rules, contribution limits, exchange rates and similar figures change, sometimes without much warning, and a page can occasionally fall behind before we catch up.
So while we work hard to keep everything current and correct, we don’t guarantee that any result is accurate, complete or up to date, and we aren’t liable for decisions made on the strength of a number from this site. Double-check anything that matters against an official source or a professional before you rely on it.
Using the site fairly
You’re welcome to use every tool on this site as much as you like, for personal or business purposes, free of charge. We only ask that you don’t:
- try to break, overload or interfere with the site, for example, automated scraping at a rate that affects other visitors, or attempting to find and exploit security holes;
- copy the site’s content or code and republish it as your own;
- use the site for anything illegal, or in a way that could reasonably cause harm to us or to other people; or
- present a result from this site as an official, certified or guaranteed figure. It’s an estimate, and we’d rather you say so than pass it off as something more authoritative.
Ownership
The design, text, calculators and code that make up A2Z Calc belong to us, except where we’ve credited someone else. You’re free to link to any page on the site, quote it with attribution, or share a result with a friend or colleague. Reusing our content wholesale (copying a page, or the formulas and wording behind it, into your own site or product) isn’t something we allow without asking first.
Links and third-party services
Some pages link out to other sites: government agencies, regulators or reference sources we cite as the basis for a figure. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or their own terms once you click through.
The currency converter fetches live rates from a third-party service, and the site uses Google Analytics and, where shown, Google-served advertising, both described fully in the privacy policy. Those third parties operate under their own terms, separate from ours.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is,” without any warranty of any kind, including, but not limited to, any promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or fit for a particular purpose. We’re a small, independently run site, and we do our best to keep things working, but we can’t promise perfection.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, A2Z Calc and the person who operates it won’t be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, including any decision made using a calculator result, or any downtime, error or inaccuracy in the site itself. This site is free to use, and that free-of-charge basis is part of why we can’t take on liability for how the results are used.
Nothing here is meant to exclude any liability that can’t legally be excluded where you live.
Children
The site is built for a general audience and isn’t aimed at children. If you’re under 13, please use it with a parent or guardian.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally, most often to reflect a new feature or a change in how the site is run. The date at the top of this page shows when the wording last changed. If you keep using the site after an update, that counts as accepting the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law that would ordinarily apply to a dispute between you and us, based on where each of us is located. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable where you are, the rest still stands.
