How to convert km/h to mph
Germany's Autobahn is famous for having no blanket speed limit on many stretches, but it does carry a recommended (advisory, not mandatory) speed of 130 km/h (about 81 mph), which is close to, but meaningfully higher than, the fastest posted limits on most US interstates (usually 70-80 mph, i.e. roughly 113-129 km/h).
Rail and high-speed transport give a sense of scale for larger km/h figures: a typical high-speed train cruises around 300 km/h, which converts to about 186 mph. That is well beyond any road speed, and useful context for judging how fast a "300 km/h" headline figure actually is without a calculator in hand. Formula 1 broadcasts quote top speeds in km/h at every circuit except the sport's handful of American races, where commentary sometimes adds the mph figure for the local audience.
